The first thing I want to say is, you sound desperate. You wouldn't be losing your pride if you asked him what's up. He broke up with you, still showing a little care for him wouldn't hurt. Just tell him...You've seemed alittle off lately, what's up?...Just be casual and you can't do wrong. Don't get fast and urgent, just be relaxed and calm. Wait, don't SOUND fast and urgent, just SOUND relaxed and calm. Just let him know that you're are there for him, and maybe you can help him out.

why not just take it slow, and talk to him how you fell when you are not with him and tell him you would rather be his friend, if he really doesnt see it still, just tell him that you are not ready for another heartbreaken..and let him know that you are his friends still . if he can wait he waits if not his a loser look for someone else better. who can wait and will just do about anything to hear you out

Communication is the key. I would just flat out ask him what he wants from you. That isn't desperate it's mature.

You know I wish people would stop thinking about how their actions make them look to other people and just go with their gut instinct...
