There's nothing wrong with liking girls. Your Mom is concerned that this interest in the opposite sex might become a priority for you and take away from other things that are more important in your life for you to have a good foundation for later on. That's all.

Some guys start earlier than others. I knew a guy in sixth grade who was quite interested in the subject of girls.
So. If you like girls, then you're not too young to like girls. So what do you do about it? That gets a little bit more dicey. Your mom may not be ready to deal with telling you about the various complications which enter your life when you decide you're old enough to do something about the fact that you like girls. Various things come into play, and I will try to keep this at the beginner level:
* What do you do if you like a girl and she doesn't like you back?
* What do you do if you don't particularly like a girl, she likes you, and you don't quite know how to tell her you're not attracted to her in that way? (Best to be diplomatic but firm. Good luck.)
* What do you do if you like a girl, all the guys find out, and they start teasing you about it?

Life is short but it takes a long time to find out, you can like anyone you want but this will be the best lesson I can tell you. As long as you live in her house or someone else is paying the rent you have to obey or abide by there rules. You have your whole life to fall for some girl, always remember your mom says things that don't make sense to you but she is doing what she thinks it best. So even if you don't like her answers you have to love for just that much for caring about you who don't even no why your too young to be thinking about girls

Well I guess it depends on how old you are. But I have found that it is best to wait till you are older, a lot less confusing, and you may just have some of your hormones under control lol. maybe not Anyway it saves a lot of heartache, I watched my friends like someone then not, then break up, then cry.... a vicious cycle. I would just wait until I find someone I would consider mairrage material, and lol it is so worth it~ so you probably would need to be at least in high school ~ also depends on maturity level!

Tell them how dare they diminish or refuse to acknowledge your personal thoughts and feelings. Your mind belongs to you and nothing anyone says can change that, nor should you let them try to manipulate you like that. Stand up for yourself. "I do like her." And back it up with reasons. "She's beautiful, she's smart, she's witty and charming, she reminds me of you mom..." But, and here's the big but, your feelings do not mean that you have any reason to pursue a deep, meaningful, long lasting relationship with this girl. The best you can hope for is to spend a little time with her, talk to her, be nice to her, and be her friend. At your age, when there's no chance of dating, you might decide to be boyfriend/girlfriend at school, calling each other, etc. would probably be OK, and fun, but of course it won't and shouldn't last too long and you should meet lots of other girls and hold hands and kiss them too, and try not to worry about it too much or take any break ups too seriously. This is supposed to be fun.

Probably because your mom feels that your to young. It's that simple. Young people are bombarded with sexualized messages on TV, Radio, Music, Movies, etc. It's very concerning to parents. Most parent would want to help and encourage their kids to be innocent as long as possible.

Well, I think perhaps every parent in this world will be telling their children this... though with the exception of some... Somehow, they just feel that their child is still a 'baby' though their age is not so...

ur not young to like girls, but u may be young to date them. n if u keep starin at a girl when she piks u up, then its obvious. deny, deny, deny! the only thing worse than ur mom knowing about ur (first?) crush is ur mom knowing about ur crush. also, u might be spacing out more thinkin about her, so she prolly guessed. now to only turn around that suspicion to the girl u like......
