I have a 1cm (10mm) kidney stone in the left UPJ of my ureter. At this point it is nonobstructive. For the last week I have had extreme pain but today I have felt nothing. All week I have had blood in my urine..today nothing. Is it possible that it has gone back up into my kidney since it is so high in the ureter? I know I haven't passed it because I have been straining my urine and I was told it was to big to pass any way. What is going on?

I had one in the same place and the doctor finally had to go up with a "basket" and retrieve it.

The pain comes when they are moving because they are cutting along the way. The blood comes when they are moving for the same reason. When they stop, the pain hurts and the bleeding stops.

Don't get your hopes up. That sucker WILL come back to haunt you until you pass it or a doctor has to "go get it". Good luck. Pops

As a producer of roughly 16 stone attacks over 40 years,I would presume it has just stopped moving and thus no pain/ no blood.Dont worry it is still there!
