Invisalign works great but has it's limits. If you need to correct your bite or have teeth that have shifted or are really crooked you may not be a candidate for invisalign. When you get invisalign each time you go to the orthodontists office you are given new sets that are adjusted to get your teeth aligned. For this reason invisalign has higher lab expenses and therefor is usually higher in cost. Metal braces will still get you the best result. For people who are looking for perfection metal braces are generally better. In most cases invisalign takes longer than metal/traditional braces. Another option you could look into is ceramic brackets. They are the color of your teeth. The wire is still metal but overall they are less visable and offer all the advantages of traditional braces.

If your case is SUITABLE for Invisalign, it works wonderfully well - as long as you do your part and wear them (almost) 24/7. Any dentist doing Invisalign has to be certified to use them and should be capable of making the diagnosis of whether or not to use them. If Invisalign was suggested to you, then it should work for your case.
I would not say that Invisalign is better or worse than braces, because it depends on the case. There is no set answer.

Invisalign may actually cost less than regular braces. Where I live, starting cases cost about $2700 - far less than metal bands.
Since you change aligners every few weeks, they don't get "yellow" unless you are really bad at keeping them clean.
Invisalign can move teeth just like regular braces. Ask an orthodontist or a general dentist who has lots of experience treating with Invisalign. If your case qualifies, the results are great!

Traditional braces (metal or clear brackets) will handle a greater range of situations and give you a better result. I wouldn't give Invisalign to my children just because they think it looks better. Invisalign has difficulties in keeping the roots upright. That raises questions of proper function and cleansibility.
If you're serious about any type of treatment (dental or medical), then you should be aiming for the best long term RESULTS.

I had metal braces for 7 months && I couldn't take the pain anymore... I never had invisalign but if I had to do it again I'd definately go with those instead of metal braces. Good luck Trust me when your so hungry && you can eat anything because your mouth is so sore from metal you wont want them on!

Invisalign looks better then regular braces. How ever they are more expensive, and are for minor cases only.

I'd say metal ones, I had them for 4 years. I got them off in 8th grade, so almost 4 years ago. My teeth are still straight. I liked braces. It only hurt a little after tightening, but other than that, they were okay. :) With metal braces, I started seeing changes immediately.

How bad are your teeth? Metal works better for severe issues, invisalign for minor. Metal works quicker.

Clear braces like invisalign are extremely prone to yellowing, which looks a whole lot worse than metal ones. My twin identical cousins got braces at the same time, one clear, one metal, and the metal ones looked so much better. After about 6 months the one with clear braces was devastated after they yellowed significantly. Everytime she opened her mouth it looked like she had huge yellow teeth. Gross.
I had metal braces and 'll take them anyday. They're really not that bad looking, and they're very easy toget used to. I was kind of sad when they took mine off...

A LOT DEPEND WHAT YOU MEAN BY "BETTER"? INVISALIGN HAD DISTINCT ADVANTAGES OVER TRADITIONAL BRACES. THE BEST THING TO DO IS TO SPEAK WITH AN ORTHODONTIST AND ASK THE QUESTIONS YOU HAVE.
