The root of the word Caucasian:
" 1807, from Caucasus Mountains, between the Black and Caspian seas; applied to the "white" race 1795 (in Ger.) by Ger. anthropologist Johann Blumenbach, because their supposed ancestral homeland lay there; since abandoned as a historical/anthropological term. Lit. meaning "resident or native of the Caucasus" is from 1843. The mountain range name is from Gk. kaukhasis, from Scythian kroy-khasis, lit. "(the mountain) ice-shining." "
The fact that the word 'Caucasian' has the word 'Asian' in it is a coincidence, it is in fact the word for 'being a native of the Caucasuss Mountains'. If you're from American, you're American. If you're from Canada, you're Canadian. If you're from Caucasuss, you're Caucasian.

There is no correlation whatsoever between the two words. Like the word 'culture' and 'vulture' or 'humanism' and 'shamanism'; you might not want to ask why is the 'ulture' happening in 'vulture'?
Caucasian from the place called 'Caucasus' near the Caspian sea.
Asian from the continent of 'Asia'.

the ian part means someone who is of(connected to, interested in), as in politician, historian, etc,, so as and cauca dont have any similarities,,,though its thought, american natives settled from asia, and since here in america, we are most all part native, maybe here is a connection,,,,,, i personally feel that most race /ethnicity issues will be old fashioned, in about 20 or 30 years, surely we have raised our childed not to care, to see that a white person may be kinda dark, darker then some black people, and maybe also we will teach our children to appeciate and learn about their heritage, and when they do , they most likely will find out that they are made of many colors

Caucasian is derived from the Caucas mountains.
Also, the "Indo-Europeans," or Aryans, are actually from the Indian subcontinent.
