Yep, and it makes the turkey moist, plus adds some flavor. Use it instead of butter inside. You'll be pleased.

Yes, it gives it a different kind of flavor with all of the other seasons that are added. It makes the turkey nice and moist as well.

Also try rubbing some butter that has been seasoned under the skin of the turkey breast as well as on the outside for added flavor and helps with browning as well. Just remember not to pierce the skin of the turkey breast when rubbing the butter underneath it. It can be a little tricky for some, but it will be well worth it in the end.

Yes I have - it'll moisten the meat. As been said, onions and garlic cloves can also be put in the cavities - talk about flavor!
Here's something from a "Kitchen Hints" book that I have:

Instead of stuffing poultry, pour a cup of water plus 1/3 cup pineapple or apple juice in the body cavity, season with parsley sprigs, celery ribs, onion slices, and herbs such as thyme, rosemary, sage, salt and pepper. Cover and steam until tender, basting occasionally.

Yes, adds a sweet flavor to the stuffing inside the turkey. However, I know dice the apple, saute and then add to stuffing. An unstuffed turkey cooks quicker.

Happy Thanksgiving!

yes:) you really can stuff a turkey with anything many people don't do the traditional stuffing we do onions, and we have been known to experiment with other things as well. i suggest you do the same but an apple will be great!

Yes I've done it with chicken, and it comes out really juicy. You can also put in some half lemons, onions, garlic, and fresh spices for extra flavor. Good luck!
