Are you thankful to anything for having benefited personally from living in a country founded by Christians. By living under laws established and derived from Christian principles. For living not in a perfect place but yet in the best place on the planet?

I wonder whether the aboriginal Americans are as grateful for Christianity and the principles that allowed a policy of "manifest destiny" to run rampant over a land already occupied and tended.
Your question tying Chritianity to US Government also ties Christianity to US Government attocities. Are you sure you want to preserve that connection by declaring the US a Christian nation?

Actually, it was founded and derived from Deist principles. The foundational documents of our nation, the Declaration of Independance (which mentions the Creator, a deist term) and the Constitution of the United States (which doesn't mention a deity at all) were summed up for their religious content by George Washington in the Treaty of Tripoli, saying that in no way was the US founded or exists as a Christian nation.
Yes, many of the founding fathers were Christian. Yes, the original settlers came for freedom of religion. But the foundations of our nation are in fact secular, and the Christian founding fathers agreed to it because a secular founding would guarantee their rights to practice their particular faiths without interference.
I thank the intelligence of the founding fathers for seeing that religious freedom could only come from a secular founding.

A very loaded question . . .
I am not an atheist, but the US was not founded by evangelical Christians hoping to create a government based on Christian beliefs. It was founded by children of the Enlightenment, who were students of Rousseau, Locke, and Plato as much as they were members of the Christian church. For example, read Rousseau's "The Social Contract" and you will find much of the philosophy for The Declaration of Independence.
The land was not given to us by God. The territory now known as the US was achieved through a long and bloody history paid for by the lives of soldiers and countless Native Americans lost to a successful genocide. Somehow I doubt that God would have approved of a land won through genocide.
I admire your idealism and agree that, though we still have some work, this is one of the best places in which to live. However, part of that remaining work is education in the origins and history of our land.

According to the UN the USA is the 10th best place to live in the world and Norway last year was the best.
What proof do you have that the United States is the best place in the world. The best place in the world is my home.

Try reading the Treaty of Tripoli and doing a lot more research before doing a little self righteous rant on something you know nothing about.

I'm at the Library, while my good wife is making Thanksgiving Dinner, how dare you question the Amish. Hey my child, God Answers Prayers but only to those that are true to him. If you submit to the Power Companies and Join the Service to Kill People you will go to Hell. God will only Save the Christians that don't give into Society, The Evil Rock Music, the Computer, Electricity. Use only natural things of God, No Dishwashers, no Irons. etc. Only Amish will meet God. I pray for you
