It takes 2 full days (48 hours) to thaw a 14 lb bird. If you put the turkey in tepid water, it will thaw much faster, but you must cook it immediately after it's thawed!

positioned your turkey in the freezer now!!! you could sluggish thaw it via putting it in the refrigerator 2 days formerly the actuall cooking day and in case you elect to speedy thaw it positioned it in chilly water 24 hours earlier than cooking. For 40 years my selection has been the two days and that i enable it sit down in chilly water for one million -2 hours formerly stuffing it. (this provides it a competent cleansing . Drain off all the water and pat it dry interior.) Merry Christmas and happy ingesting.P.S If hte neck is thawed then you definately understand your fowl is waiting

I was just now at Krogers. I asked a worker this same question. He said 30 minutes per pound...so, a 20 pound turkey would take 10 hours. By the way, that is letting it sit in cold water. Good luck.

You have to leave it in the fridge to thaw it atleast 2 days. Do not leave in room temperature to thaw it, as bacteria will attack the bird.
