No wonder the Americans dont like the beer if all they have tasted is Fosters, its not even made here anymore, Emu bitter is the best for shandies.

I don't think that's really true at all.. Many Australian beers and especially micro-brews are based on foreign recipes.. Take 'Little Creatures' microbrew from Perth Australia for example. There beer is based on the Sierra Nevada recipe.. One beer which I believe is local to Australia is called Coopers. I found this beer to be particularly good, but not better, just different.. Other than Hahn was my beer of choice which I thought matched up well with American beers.

Personally I have only tried Foster's as well. It's not bad, but tastes just like any other macro lager American or imported. Nothing special but nothing horrible. Compared to American microbrewed beers Foster's is horrible. Compared to American macrobrewed beers Foster's is very similar. Do you guys get some of our good stuff in Australia such as Dogfishhead, Bell's, Goose Island, or Three Floyds?

I like Fosters Bitter, not the "regular" Fosters.
It depends on the American beer we're talking about. The megabreweries spill more in a day than the good microbreweries make in a year.
There are some great microbreweries in Colorado and California that turn out some good un's!

It is better than American beer, stronger but not bad. But I knew an Aussie who told me the best Australian beer is hard to find here.

I wouldn't insult Australia by suggesting that their beer is anything like American beer. I like Fosters, but I like some of the German beers even better. Unfortunately, the best of them are unavailable in the U.S., because they don't have any preservatives in them.

I was given a 6 pack of Foster's and I only drank one.
It left a horrible taste in my mouth.
I drink Keystone and Lonestar.

I've tried Fosters a couple of times. I never really liked it. Tastes like wino-swill to me. Kinda sour. As long as you like it though, that's all that matters. Party on.
