I clean my ears everyday with Q-tips after my shower but I feel like I am deaf. Whenever I have friends over and I have my tv on, they think I have a hearing problem. Is there any ear cleaner that is available at the pharmacy or maybe a home remedy that is safe to try? Thanks for your help!

Using Qtips only pushes earwax further into the ear canal. Could be you have a bunch of it pushed against your eardrum which could cause your hearing problem. You could try Debrox or some other similar over the counter product. Then flush your ears with water. If that doesn't help then seek a doctors opinion. GOOD LUCK!! (did you hear me?) lol

You might have auditory attention deficiency. This is not a ear problem, but a form of learning disability. Basically your ears are picking up every little noise to the point of distraction.

If the TV is off, do your friends still claim you have a hearing problem?

While in conversation, does it sometimes take a moment for a question or comment to you to sink in?

When in school or meetings, do you have trouble following lectures and the like? Do you learn better by reading rather than listening?

Regardless, you should first and foremost go to a doctor for a hearing test. If you have no loss of hearing, follow up and go for testing for this learning disability and tutoring for how to cope with it.

when ihave something in my ear, i fill it in with water when i shower. Then i use a Q-tip and scoop it out, it has more grip to the ear wax than using it dry. Since you mention that after shower, try cleaning it thoroughly because you might clogged it up

First of all, avoid any self-treatment for this. Go see a doctor. Also ask to be referred to an audiologist for a full hearing test. Most doctors are only trained to do screening. They can miss places where you have hearing loss.

I suggest you go see a doctor. You may have hurt your ear canal while using the Q tips or may have some form of infections..

You may have damaged your ear drum. Before you damage it further have a professional take a look at it.
Good luck.
