I still believe that people are basically good, that morals come from the heart, that lying, stealing and cheating is bad, that faith, truth and hope are good, that family and friends are to be treated with the same respect as strangers, that you should always say I love you at the end of every conversation because you never know what may happen before you next see or talk to someone, that nature is a miraculous thing, that everywhere you look there is something to be thankful for. However, I am no longer Christian and fortunately, I don't for a second believe these are only Christian teachings. I believe these are more life lessons than anything and should be carried into any religion or lack thereof.

There are a lot of other things about Christianity I no longer believe but the basic "goodness" of the religion is still something to be cherished.

Blessed Be.

I was never taught anything about religion in the same sense most people are raised in a religion. My mother is Christian and my father is Agnostic, so religion was never an issue in my household. Though, as my mother is fond of stating, we're not sure how I ended up as a Pagan. LOL

Wouldn't that be nice! Unfortunately.......many parents nowa days teach nothing but "religion". But in this case (I assume) you might not know the difference between religion and faith. Much different than you may realize. I leave that up to you to figure out what the difference is, that is if your truly wondering what it all means! I wish you the best of hope and want to see you on the other side! (in the only one heaven) may God bless you and help lead you to His wonderful Son Jesus Christ! Wooooeeee! Why am I so in love? You can find more answers in the "Holy Bible". Maybe start with John 3:16? but anyways....if you give Him your time He will show you the way! You will succeed, in Gods name I proclaim! Yea..........there are many that will need your help also. May Jesus touch you right now!

No, even though I'm no longer in the religion of my childhood.

My parents taught me to not be self-righteous or self-congratulatory. They told me that those were common flaws among religious people.

They taught me to be open to the truths of other people's lives, and other people's religions.

I'm glad that they did, and glad I didn't "throw out the baby with the bathwater."

I didn't stop believing in everything they taught me about religion. My mother once said religion can turn people ugly.
