First, we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus... nothing more nothing less. Can we lose that faith and fall from grace? Yes we can... this is why its important to remain IN Him. To say that one isnt saved in the first place if they do fall from grace is to imply that there is more to salvation than Jesus. Like the person has to be full of imovable faith or totally delivered from all temptation and we know that's not the case. As it goes, this is one of the places where those who preach Once Saved Always Saved get tripped up. They will tell you there are no works involved in salvation you are saved from the moment of belief and sealed forever no matter what... but then, they change their tune if you say "what if I used to believe and now I dont anymore and Im Atheist" they say "well you werent saved to begin with then"
One does not sin away salvation but it is possible to lose it through walking away and their faith dying.

Every time we sin we fall from grace! this doesn't mean we loose our salvation. What it means is that we fall out of fellowship with the Lord but we still retain our status as a child of God. Once we were saved we were saved forever as we are told in Ephesians CH.4 V30 "......we are sealed with the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption" We can not take ourselves out of the Lords hands and he has promised that no one can take us out of his hands too! I am a born again Christian and like the rest of us I trip and fall several times a day however we simply confess it to the Lord and being true to his word he forgives immediately so we get right back up again and keep walking on. Remember, we have no right to remember what the Lord has forgiven and forgotten!

One can imagine it as the difference between being hungry and being full. If one is well-fed, was one hungry to begin with? The answer, logically enough, is 'yes'. Like being hungry, being 'fallen' exists as a counter-point along the spectrum of being 'saved'. In other words, to rise is allow for the possiblity of falling, to fall is to allow for the possibility of one to rise. Therefore, grace could not 'exist' if it were the only possibility, but that is different than saying it is the eventual possibility. Eventually, we all are 'saved', just like eventually we all 'eat', but that does not diminish the hunger that preceeds it.

Read a book by, Charles Stanley call," Eternal Security". In it he answers just such questions. You should be able to find it in most Christian book stores, B&N or books a million.
We can fall back into sins as Christians, but I don't think we can lose our salvation.
To those that think you can lose your salvation. Do you still sin? Why are you sinning? I wish I never sin, but it happens from time to time. I thank God I am saved by what Jesus Christ did on the cross for me. I can never be good enought, there is nothing I can do to save myself. God knew this before He saved me. He knew I would fall, yet He saved me. If there was something I could do to save myself, then Jesus never had to die on the cross. I am his child, He said so in his word. Good or bad I belong to him. What Father would say to their child, "You have been bad, you are no longer my child". I thank God for his Grace and Mercy, because we don't deserve it.

It is 100% possible to walk away from your salvation. God will never you nor forsake you, this is true. On the other hand HE wil never force you to live in Heaven if you don't want to. According to "once saved always saved" if you accept Jesus at 20 years of age, and at 25 you kill 5 people and yourself you are still going to Heaven. WHAT A CROCK.
All people who ask Jesus for salvation are saved. And then Satan comes in to convince them they are not truly saved. That is exactly what you are doing with your "were you really saved to begin with" garbage.

what do you mean by "saved?" do you mean living a full life or going to heaven when you die? "Salvo" is a term of health. it is this-worldly and so I would say grace is the source of liberty, for granting freedom is a gracious thing for the greater to extend to the lesser of parties. This is what God has done: covenant love from God's view is Grace. Covenant love from our view is Mercy. What do you mean by "fall from grace?" do you mean lose your salvation? If salvation is living a full and healthy life, then our choices have everything to do with it and thus, our behavior. I do not believe our eternal destination has anything to do with this, however, because God loves us with a limitless love that the Bible says "triumphs over judgment." Everything begins, is maintained by and ends with the Covenant Love of God.

How can you "fall from grace'? Grace mean a gift given by God to man that we do not deserve. Salvation is achieved by grace through faith, and this not of ourselves. Not by works, so no one can boast. So if grace is something given from God to sinful man, how does "falling from it" come into play? Christianity is preceded by and followed by repentance. A Christian becomes a Christian by repenting to God of all the sins committed against Him and trusting in Jesus to save you on Judgment Day. A lifetime of repentance and faith.

It is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance.
The Lord's prayer said daily...forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.? There are no Super Christians and we will need the grace of God to keep us clean and forgiven until the day we die.
You can be saved and willfully sin ........it does not mean you need to get saved again. It means when you yeild to life's temptations, it shows what is in your heart

i have asked my self this question many times. i am currently still studying this topic, however i think that there is a such thing as falling away from the faith, but if one is TRULY saved, then he is SAVED! there is no completely falling away from that. now we can be in a backslidden state, however a truly saved person will not stay in that state for very long!
