How can you fix meringue if you over beat it?

yes it becomes tough

i think it only goes back to liquid if it gets too warm...which i suppose could happed from over beating.

Yes, it can certainly be over-beaten and if you do, sorry but you're screwed.

yes, because if you beat it too much it will eventually turn back to its liquid form.
