well I have done this mistake and OH BOY! U need to go to an aveda hair salon and get your hair stripped first then redyed to the color you choose . Blonde over black makes green I know been there done it. Get it done professionally its the only way then your hair is going to be super dry so get some reconstruction conditioner asap !!!!!! If you have enough courage the only way to really cure this is to cut it super short but I know most girls cant handle that. As for the chick who insulted you screw her, You are really living your life taking risks stepping outside the box. She is in her safety bubble how boring! Admire yourself for your courage know you have beautiful hair waiting to be seen. You rock! for taking a chance ..........welcome to the real world!

You should wait a little bit, because some of the dye will still wash out to a lighter black. When all the hair dye has been washed out of your hair, meaning, when you shower the water runs clear, you should go to a salon, and have them double process. Bleach your hair out, and then dye it to the color you want. Depending on your hair type, you might not want to do this. It is a lot of stress on your hair, and you might damage, dry, or even get breakage. I think most peoples hair can take it, though. I had to do this process. With good conditioner, and treatments, you should be okay. Second option is to let it grow out.

God, how many times do I have to tell people NOT to mess with hair dyes on their own hair, ESPECIALLY bleachers and strippers! You're inexperienced and untrained and now you've ruined your hair. It'll never be quite the same again, particularly now that you've put blonde in it, which I guess means you used peroxide.
Go to a hair salon for goodness' sakes, and get a qualified hairdresser to dye and cut your hair from now on. Go to the hairdresser right now and ask for their qualified opinion. They may be able to do something right away, or make you leave it for a few weeks and start again. But geez, DON'T dye your own hair from now on!
I hope you've learned your lesson. Unfortunately like so many other people on here, it was the hard way.

oooh girl, don't you know once you go black you can't go back?? Well, at least in hair-world, anyway. If you color your hair black, you're pretty much stuck with it unless you don't mind getting it stripped out. You can't lift color with color, so you aren't going to be able to color over the black with another color... and if you do try to do so, you will end up with hot roots... your roots will color brighter because they are virgin hair, and the ends where the black is won't do anything but stay black. Also, as far as the perm goes, you have to wait until it grows out or just gradually loosens itself out. You can temporarily straighten it in the meantime by blowing it out with a jumbo round brush and using a smoothing iron. good luck!

you need to go to a salon def. they will need to use a color remover on your hair to get the box color out.....then they can go in and try to fix it and bring it back to a tone close to your natural color....depending on what your hair looks like now it could take just one time at the salon but prob. not...it will be a process but it will all work out in the end...that is what there job is...good luck

I died my hair jet black once. . .I hated it too! I went to a professional hair stylist and she was able to strip the color. . .which turned it orange (but even that looked better than jet black!!), but then she added a gentle brownish color to soften the brassiness.
Your hair stylist may not be able to get your hair back to its original color, but he/she may get it to a more likeable shade.
And the best thing about hair is that it grows out!

I have the same problem!!!!! the beginning of last year i dyed mine black and it wont go back. i've tried countless times to get it back to dark brown but it just wont work... nothing will color over it. you just have to wait it out or get the color stripped.
