not sure how this fits into the religion and spirituality category, but anyway, i would serve a rose wine with turkey, its a middle ground, and turkey with its dark and light meat, needs a little more then your basic white

Skip the wine, and don't serve alcohol at all. That takes care of the drunks! Simply mix up some ginger ale and some white grape juice, and serve it as a punch. If you prefer a red, use the red grape juice or some Ocean Spray.
You can also get several bottles of sparkling cider! Yummy.
BTW, serve a white or a blush with turkey (even the dark part). Dark red wine goes with BEEF.

Why should YOU have to pick the wine along with everything else you're doing?
Tell one of your boorish relatives that THEY have to bring a white and a red. Make a BIG fuss over how nice it was for them to bring the wine, so everyone hears it. Then when people make faces over it, they'll know who to blame.
Besides, if they're just going to get drunk, why should you waste anything good on them? Hide the good stuff!
And most party stores have plastic wine glasses that look pretty good.

Leave the Waterford crystal in the cabinet if the family likes to fight. A chardonnay or pinot grigio would be nice with the dinner.
Kick off those pumps and have a fabulous time!

Zinfandel BABY!!!!!! Or you could always go with the Vampire Wine from Transalvania... that is good wine. *wink* And give them the "fine China"... those plastic cups.... then you won't have to worry about your crystal.
Have a Good Thanksgiving!

If you buy a full turkey you get both - the white meat is the breast, wings and back the dark is the drumsticks and thigh. The dark meat is richer and has more flavor the white is dryer and needs more gravy. Dark-fattier/White less fat. Hope that clears things up and helps you decide.

Get a Zinfandel, it just sounds so ominous, you will be getting them back without any awareness on thier part. Personaly, I think you are being very loving by suppliing any booze for free, I would'nt give free booze to anyone. They should feel honored! They must take free booze for granted. Ungratefuls!

Silly goose.
When in doubt, serve Champagne.
I used to go through this every Thanksgiving, too, until I realized that I could keep all the lovely Champagne for myself, and pitch my shoes at troublemakers.
Here's to your bird!

Riecling or Pinot Grigio (white) goes good with turkey. You can also try Pinot Nior (white) that is a great middle.
Grigio may be spelled wrong, Riecling may be, too, for that matter. But CHEERS !!!!! anyway.

I thought Amish people didn't drink...hmm...so how does your whole family get drunk? Crazy...and we're going to hell? To bad for your poor expensive crystal that is just a possession that won't be able to go to "heaven" with you.
