From the beginning, Christians were subject to various persecutions. This involved even death for Christians such as Stephen and James the brother of John. Saul, who later converted to Christianity and is best known as Paul of Tarsus, the "Apostle to the Gentiles", was a vigorous agent in the persecution by the Jerusalem authorities, having been present at the stoning of Stephen and approving it.
**Larger-scale persecutions** followed at the hands of the authorities of the Roman Empire, beginning with the year 64, when, as reported by the Roman historian Tacitus, the Emperor Nero blamed them for that year's great Fire of Rome. In spite of these at-times intense persecutions, the Christian religion continued its spread throughout the Mediterranean Basin.
I know I'm tired of being blamed for WW2 etc.
Who is to blame for this? Someoene didnt want Christianity to happen. Do you really go to this extreme to cover up a myth?
Do people willingly die for a cause that is false?

You cant possibly compare someone dying alone to Osama Bin Laden.....his cause was to kill. The disciples just would refuse to say Jesus was a liar. They were taking nobody with them.
Cant compare that but I knew somebody would try.

Well, I've never quite understood why people would blame ANYONE of today for things that have happened in the past. No matter what religion they followed. I'm a Pagan but I would certainly disagree with how the Pagan Emporers of Rome treated other people, including other Pagans. (Julius Ceasar damn near wiped out the Pagan Celts in war).
As for someone not wanting Christianity to happen, I don't believe this. Though I know there are people today who are tired of some Christians using the "persecution" card while persecuting people of other religions themselves. This is tiring. As for covering up a myth... you find what you are looking for. If you are looking for a myth, you will find nothing but myth.
As for dying for a false cause... Would you say those Extremists in Islam are dying for a false cause????? I'm betting you would.
Persecution has happened everywhere, for different reasons though those reasons usually boil down to either Religious or Political... sometimes both.
And just as tired as you are of being blamed for WW2... I am just as tired of being blamed for consorting with demons and casting spells on people. Misinformation is rampant and people would rather believe the worst in others, than to look for the good. It happens in all groups and the only way to deal with it is on an individual basis, rather than trying to take on a "label" as a whole.

First of all, Christian persecution in the Roman empire were actually isolated incidents. Nero and Theodosius did persecute Christians, but that was only limited to the city of Rome.
Second, Christians who were persecuted later became the persecutors; Spanish Inquisitions, Crusades, Anti-Semitism, witch hunts, etc. The main reason for the Protestant reformation and the pilgrims were the church persecuting other branches of Christianity.
Third, Christianty is currently the dominant religion in the world.
"Do people willingly die for a cause that is false?"
People wouldn't die for a cause IF they KNOW it is false. The problem is, people DON'T know that the cause is false. That's why we have crazy religious fundies such as Pat Robertson, Haggery, Osama bin Laden, Ayatollah Al Khameni, etc

After the last of the Apostles died a great and degrading hypocrisy took over in the form of Emperor Constantine.
Although he was baptized, it was only for the sake of unifying his kingdom that was greatly divided between Jews Christians and Pagans. The Christians seemed to be a fast growing group, so why not take the dunk.
Unfortunately this lead to hypocrisy and a deviation from TRUE CHRISTIAN religion as he tried to change and rearrange things to appeal to the pagan masses. Christmas and the idea of a Trinity God are foremost examples of this hypocrisy!
The first faithful ones you mentioned like Steven, Paul, Peter, and the favorite, John were indeed true Christians, when John died, the wolves in sheep's clothing then entered the picture, just as Jesus predicted they would!

This is not a justification of what the Romans did, just an attempt to understand the motives.
Romans believed very deeply in tradition. It was important to honor the past and have respect for culture that was given to you.
Many Pagan Romans viewed Christians as Jews who rejected their past and traditions. If you could dismiss your history you couldn't be trusted.
Nero as an incompetent leader had other reasons to blame the Christians. If you focus the population and exploit a prejudice you can deflect attention from the real issues.
Yes people are willing to die for false beliefs. The Russian revolution is one example of this.

Who is it that blames you for WW2? Christians were on both sides in WW2. I don't think that WW2 was blamed on Christians. It sounds like you have been listening to those radical skin heads and white supremest, Nazi, KKK, a'ss holes. They are just a bunch of sick trouble makers don't listen to that pile of s'hit. Yes people do go to extreme to cover up a myth and they may very well die for a cause that is false but they believe the cause is true of course. God bless kisses Betty.

Churches all miss the point and their claims of being spiritual must make God cry. If the churches would just disappear humanity would have a fighting chance to become the type of person Jesus demonstrated. There will be hell on earth until the churches DIE

How many people were tortured and killed during the Inquisition (led by Christians) for being suspected witches? How many more were killed throughout Europe (by God-fearing Christians) in the centuries that followed, all the way up to the Salem Witch Trials (which was spearheaded by a pastor)? And yet you claim that witchcraft is false.
So thanks for the validation of Wicca as a genuine religious path! Could you please notify the government so they can force the VA to allow Wiccan's widows to place pentacles on their grave stones? That would really help us out - thanks!

The apostles were there at ground zero, witnessing the events of Christ's crucifiction and resurrection first hand. Logic dictates that they would not willingly die for a conspired fairy tale.
