This man has done more for world peace than any former President in history. He had no control over the Iranian situation, it was the result of a failed policy for years, and Reagan, that stiff, made an arms deal with the Iranians, and had them wait to release the hostages until he was inaugurated. He was the most honest President in our history.

Dear Ruth; Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger opened us up to China, it was supposedly their greatest achievement, Kissinger is a billionaire because of it; you can't rewrite that one. Thanx for your answer.

Carter a self made man not born to a rich family, won the Nobel peace prize, had a degree in Nuclear physics, served in the military longer then any President except for Eisnhower, A devout Christian his entire life (unlike Bush)
Has done tremendous work for the charity Habitat for humanity.
He may not have been the best president ever but you pieces of dirt that insult this man who was ten times the President and ten times better the human being then that turd in the white house
Should try to accomplish HALF of what he did

Just one more bash. Denying our Olympic athletes the opportunity to compete in the Summer Olympics 1980 because somehow that would send a message to Moscow? THEY invade Afghanistan and OUR athletes lose the opportunity of a lifetime? He's a lovely man and without a doubt, the best ex-President ever, but an abysmal failure as President. Sorry.

"the man gave us to china"
what is that girl talking about. do you people have any idea who sold our souls to china, that would be Bush. Just look back over the last 6 years and see how much of our debt china owns. As for Carter, its lame that people are sayiong he was responsible for 9/11. How about all the weapons that Rumsfield and Reagan sold to Iran and Iraq. What about the US training Bin Laden in the 80's.

I never get tired of pointing out what a lousy President Jimmy Earl was, and he's an even worse ex-President. He's done nothing but be an embarassment to the USA. His policies upon entering the White House emasculated the CIA and directly lead to the hostage crisis, then his gutting of the military prevented them from launching a successful rescue of the hostages. I think he should be tarred and feathered. We'd have been better off with his alcoholic bozo of a brother.

No. I get sick of people rewriting history on this site.
The man gave us to China.
EDIT: For the youngun's who just got here, this "girl" remembers when Carter kicked Taiwan, a tiny independent democracy, out of the UN and installed red China.
And I remember the US GIVING steel and other raw materials to China for them to turn into goods, which they sold back to the US.

Here is another example of you have to consider the source. Neo-cons do not know their elbow from their eyebrow about what it takes to be an honest man. After all, they voted for a coke snorting, alcoholic with no morals, not just once but twice. Yes Jimmy Carter was an intelligent, and very honest man that was viewed as an outsider by the congress and could not get them to help him succeed.

Jimmy Carter is a piece of crap politician. He sucked as a president who failed at everything! I was so disgusted because that failure was my commander in chief for a short time and I was so happy to see a real commander in chief come into power. Carter is a nice man who should have remained a peanut farmer. That seems to be the only thing he was qualified for. He failed at everything he touched as president. I know.....I had to live with it.

Yep, four outta five communist dictators agree:
Jimmy is the man when you want an election validated.
Goodness, six-years is the scope of history when considering China?
Bad enough he did it when he was president, but still today the man weakens the position of America and her allies.
Chavez; Ahmadinijad; The Castro Brothers; Morales.......
all love him.
