We have a 3 bedroom house and no possibility of moving to a 4 bedroom or adding on at the moment. We have a 9 year old girl, a 20 month old girl and another girl on the way. I know the baby will be in the same room with us for a short while in the bassinett but who should share a room? My vote is for the two little ones since the oldest is so much older. I thought I would seek out opinions and advice from other parents that have dealt with the same type of situation.

what about this, ask the 2 older girls, whether they wanna share or no.. u solve it...

as far as i'm concern, (i used to be a boy a few years ago), sometimes, i feel like really wanting an own room, bcause sharing it with your brother, makes u feel uncomfortable, but then again, when my brother sleep over at friends, i have to sleep alone in the room, and i fell completely lonely, and really badly wanted my brother to go home, so that i can chat with him before bed.........

my other suggestion, give them liberty to choose overtime... perhaps they want to have their own room now, but 3 months later they want to share the room, and so on and so forth....

good luck...

I would definitely put the two babies in the same room. Their needs are very different than the 9 year olds. It won't be long before the little one will be wanting to use all the older sister's stuff etc. I would be preparing the little one to be "momma's little helper" it will help in the transition.

th etwo yougest ones because of the close age difference they will probaly have a better relation ship than the nine year old. Also you gotta think when the 9 year old is 13 you probaly dont want the younger ones to be watching the same things or listening to what the older one might be talking about

Definitely let the older girl have her own room. she will have things that the younger one should not be getting into. The two younger ones will have similar toys and tastes for a while. At least they are all girls!

My toddlers share a room. getting to understand to share is a good element. I grew up in a kinfolk of 10 teenagers. The oldest became married till now the youngest got here alongside, yet our homestead became consistently finished. the two boys shared a mattress room around the corridor from mom & dad on the 1st floor. the 2nd floor of our homestead had one room partitioned off, the place the two oldest women at homestead slept. something human beings slept, purely approximately dormitory-style in the leftover open area. We found out plenty approximately getting alongside with others, sharing & compromising throughout the time of our childhoods.

The little ones should share, at least once the baby is sleeping through the night (Or close enough).
