Christmas is a stolen pagan holiday. In fact, Jesus can be argued to be a regurgitated Pagan deity.

Thanksgiving has little to do with Christianity - it has more to do with taking land from the people who were here first. Wait, I guess that would mean it has a lot to do with Christianity then.

Sorry, but Thanksgiving isn't a Religious holiday. It's a cultural one. Christians in other countries do not celebrate Thanksgiving (except in Canada and it's on a totally different day). Christmas was not originally a Christian holiday... it was a Pagan one. So most likely, if Christianity had not come along, we would be celebrating Saturnalia from Rome or Yuletide from the Celts (Britian, Ireland, Scotland, Germany, France, Spain).

As for being dumb... I suggest you do some research on the background of these things before you start point that finger of yours.

We shouldnt be offensive to Christianity or ANY FAITH because that's just not the right thing to do...

Look at the world right now... it is in being OFFENSIVE to the sensitivities of others that has created War, Strife and Suffering...

Learn from our mistakes to never repeat them again...

I thought Thanksgiving was an American holiday... forgive my ignorance... do people in Israel, Italy celebrate Thanksgiving?

I find it interesting that some people today are so p.c. about everything from gays to whatever yet when it comes to Christians it seems to be a different story to them. It isn't. They soon forget this country is considered a "Christian country" by the world, and rightfully so. Our country was founded by Christians, our most precious documents were written by primarily Christians and we've been blessed as a "super power". I suggest they get used to the fact that America is primarily a Christian country, well over 65% claim that as their belief system/lifestyle.

that is not the reason why people should not be offended by Christianity! and with the way Christmas is celebrated now a days, it has little if anything to do with Christ! it has to do with $. and Thanksgiving, really has nothing to do with him either cuz most people don't take time on that day or any other day to be thankful for anything! all they want is to get 2gether and eat!

Sure we would! The holidays would just revert to their pagan roots! Besides why should I find Christians (as a group rather than some individuals) offensive? Just because they find me offensive because of my religion? I think not.

I am with you... I don't ever take christianity seriously because it is atrocious, an abomination before God. Their 'pro-life' crap is just sick. They are just fetuses and they keep having babies as if it is some kind of blessing... personally I would sterilize them ALL after the 2nd child without exception... then they would not have anyone to fight their stupid wars.

Um...if it went away, we'd still do these holidays. The fall and December seasons have been celebration times for many cultures. We'd likely still be celebrating even if only the name changed.
