And is it true that when the population reaches about 9 or 10 billion it will level off and stop growing?

I heard that last theory from Scientific American. Something like the population will stabilize eventually and family sizes and fertility in developing countries are possibly decreasing.

Approx. 6.5 Billion at the moment.

Probably not. The only way that will happen would be disease & famines due to overcrowding. The earth cannot sustain a population of humans growing at the current rate.

About 6.5 billion...like bacteria in a petri dish...and then it will all come crashing down like a house of cards...at current levels, by 2048, the oceans will be a dead cesspool.

Life on earth in 50-75 years will be very different than today. We are destroying not only the earth...but ourselves as we know it. It's not a doom-gloom outlook. It's reality.

Just over 6 billion. This is too many! Let's get rid of all the fertility clinics and replace them with INFERTILITY clinics. I believe all insurance carriers would happily cover the full cost of sterilization, since it is nothing compared to the cost of pre-natal care and delivery.

six billion, and it wont level off because that would mean that people would die each time someone is born. And with better health and technology ppl are living longer and having more babies

6,525,170,264 (July 2006 est.) https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/geos/xx.html

I have never heard that. Populations will keep growing as long as there is enough space and resources to support them.
