i have three of my own but i would adopt a child or two as soon as mine are old enough to understand the reasoning behind a child needing a family. my cousin is adopted and it is the best thing you can do for a child, sometimes children are in the system because both parents passed away or for many other reasons. I would never put up my own child but i would take a few in. If you are thinking of adopting than go for it. just remember its not like buying a doll and being able to return it because it's not the one you want. some children come with problems and you just have to be patient and understanding with them.

If a baby is born to a woman who cannot take care of it properly, then adoption is the way to go! I think parents who adopt are great! They give a child a good home. Some adults are unable to have children and it's a dream come true for them. What's not to like?

Adoption is the greatest thing in the world. I was born to be a Mom, but I could not have children, but I did adopt the most wonderful baby boy in 1972. It was the most wonderful day in my life. I have spent entire life loving him and could never imagine my life without him. He has given me wonderful daughter in law and two beautiful grandchildren. I thank God every for choosing me to be his mother. I am also grateful to his biological mother who loved him enough to want him to have a better life than she could give him.
I too, wonder why so many people adopt overseas instead of here unless it just the process takes too long or maybe it is more expensive here. I do know there are a lot of children who need homes and it would be wonderful for someone to adopt them instead of them having to live in foster homes.

adoption is a good thing for both the parents and the child. we have two grown adopted children and they grew up to be nice people . being a parent requires a lot of sacrifice on the part of the parents and should be understood before you become a parent. i would like to add we adopted American children in the USA

I think that adoption is a good thing because it gives kids who either lost their parents or parents abandoned or something along those lines a chance to start new and a chance to have a family and make friends etc etc. so i think adoption is a good thing

I think If someone can give a child a honest good loving home then it's great. I think kids are so shuffled around in foster care that they become so disfunctional and hurt. Who wouldn't be. I think it would be much, much harder than having your own. For many reasons. My wife and I have considered it. We have 2 children and I am not willing to deal with jealousy from my own children. I think healthy people without children are best suited. People need love.

Adoption is the gift you give your child when you love them enough to know that you are not the best parent for them.

It saddens me that people only want to adopt babies.. they seldom want kids who are slightly older as though they are some how defective becuase they are older...

I think it's great, but, the recent trend seems to be toward adopting foreign-born children. I think that we have millions of unwanted children right here in the U.S., and that our responsibility is to provide homes for our own children first.
