I suffer from terrible migraines. So far all I've been offered is these "alternative" therapies such as meditation, accupunture, etc...that have not poven successful. My fiancee had some oxycontin left over from some surgery, and it proved incredibly effective for my migraines. It eased the pain and actually uplifted my mood. My family doctor won't prescribe it for me citing the "addictive" potential. Should I "doctor shop" to find a good doctor or go with an Internet pharmacy? What about the black market?????

Sure!!! You can Doctor Shop until you find a "Dr. Feelgood". It would probably be a good idea to accept the fact you will end up in jail, emergency room, nut ward, or the morgue. Oxycontin is a powerfully addictive drug. You just told us it was a huge high, so who you trying to kid about actually needing it? You are lying to yourself & us because there are non addictive, effective drugs for migraines available. If you truly needed something for the pain, you doctor would have prescribed one of them.. FYI, you need a doctor's prescription to get it on the internet, also.

Ball's in your court, friend. Oxy with addiction or the chance to lead a normal life? Life vs Hell?

Been there, done that, not going back

Oxycontin is a long acting narcotic and you can't get it unless you have a written Rx. You should be referred to a neurologist that can help specifically with migraine headaches. Good luck!

A lot of doctors aren't rx Oxycontin because of the street use. I always recommend pain management doctors!!!! A lot of family doctors are too easily influenced by their morals whereas the pain management doctor wants to take your pain away!!! I would be careful for taking other peoples narcotics because that's against the law if you and the other person get busted.
