Today is our 6 month anniv.! he went to jail oct. 19 and has the slight chance for release in January or up to six months after. We were living together in georgia and since he has gone to jail i have had to move to New York to be with my family. Now im struggling to work 2 jobs to save enough $ to get our own place before he gets out. I just feel like i have so many things going on i never have the time to sit back and just cope with him being gone.
I dont know how to comfort him through letters when i cant find the words to comfort myself.

This may sound harsh but he doesn't deserve you.For what ever reason he's in jail he should have thought about you before he did it.I know you really care for him which is good that you can still be with someone even though their not there, but you need to figure out you before anybody else. You cant put your self in a situation like this with out being ok your self.If you know you don't want to leave him you need to write him a letter telling him about your problems and if he can care enough to understand and cooperate then he's worth something

Maybe this is a good time to re-evaluate your relationship with him. Do you really want someone who can't follow basic rules in society and doesn't care enough about you to behave and say out of jail? Odds are you are setting yourself up for a life of being alone while he goes in and out of jail. Good luck whatever you do. I hear some prisons have chaplains, they might be able to give you some ideas on how to deal, I'm sure they've heard it all.

Take one thing at a time. Ask your family for help on the money thing and just get enough money for an apartment right now. Don't try to get a house cuz that'll add even more stress n if hes getting out in january then no need to comfort him now hes probably excited as it is just try cheering yourself up b4 you can cheer you rbf up

Just write him and let him know how u really feel. But u have to give him encouraging words 2 let him know that you'll still b there 4 him. Look on the BRIGHT sides to cope with urself. Why did he go to jail??It really depends.

Why would you want to stay mixed up with someone that is in jail? All you are doing is looking for trouble and he could lead you down the wrong path. I'm very surprised that your family is putting up with this. He doesn't have much respect for you if he is wanting you to wait for him.

You need to put this behind you and chalk it up to experience. Find a guy that will treat you with respect and not put your life in jeopardy.

I guess you have to ask yourself why did he go to jail. If the guy is out there screwing up, then maybe you need to stop worrying about comforting him, and just worry about you. Maybe this is a good signal it's time to move on.

Leave his butt there and let him deal with his punishment. HE went to jail not YOU. Your life shouldn't stop on account of him. You have only been together for 6 months.... Don't let this bring you down.

just write him and tell him exactly how you're doing, coping etc. and you want to console him but it's difficult, maybe he can help you just as much.....and tell him to get his act together if he still wan't a relationship.
