what are the risks and how do you pierce it

The risks are very high. If you hit a nerve( your face is full of them) you could cause serious and permanent damage! Your mouth is of course full of bacteria, too, so your risk for infection is huge. The stakes are high even having it done professionally; but if you must have your lip pierced, go to a professional with a good reputation.

Use a large sewing needle that has been sitting in alcohol or boiling water for a period. Ice is a very good agent for help in deadening the area before the piercing. Use a cloth and small pliers to hold the needle when you pierce the skin. Keep the area clean and bathe it for days until it heals inside the hole. Keep something in the hole so it doesn't heal together. Keeping the hole clean is the key to success.

Don't, pay a professional to do it. A buddy of mine tried to give himself a piercing and got an infection.

Not a smart thing to do. i would suggest going to a piercing place, not doing it on your own.

please dont. my friend did his himself and it looked fine for a while but then it got infected and really discusting and filled with pus and stuff. i dont know if its because he didnt take care of it or something but i'd advise you to go get it done. if youre not old enough get an older cousin or something with the same last name as you to go with you and pretend theyre your parent

You don't. You could do all sorts of damage that's not worth it. If you are old enough -spend the $ to get it done. If you're not old enough wait please!
