Okay, it has been icty for months. I thought it was because my hair is naturally dry but...it(the itching) is getting worse. What should I do?

Honey, get some anti-dandruff shampoo asap. If you let the itching get out of hand you'll probably start to get the unsightly flakes on your shoulders. These shampoos range from the intense prescription kind, to the basic and mild Head and Shoulders. If the itching is really bad, and you don't have time to visit the doctor, I would recommend getting a medium level anti-dandruff shampoo, that has more than the 1% zinc that's in Head and Shoulders. If you go to a drugstore, just look on the back of all the different varieties and you'll see the zinc concentration. The higher the percentage, the better it works. Good Luck!

First thing to consider is what you are shampooing with and how frequently you are shampooing. If It has been itchy for months did you switch shampoos at that time? Lots of shampoos contain harsh chemicals and additives which aren't good for scalp and can make hair dry ( you mention hair is dry). There was a similar question recently and that person was immediately helped by changing to a tea tree oil shampoo which is kind to hair and scalp. Tesco sell one under their brand name. If you wash hair everyday that could be another cause of the problem - see if you can wash less frequently.

i had the same problem. i would get "selson salon". itz like "selson blue", except it workz better for itchy scalp. i used it, along with my regular shampoo & conditionor (spelling?) and it worked for me. you can get "selson salon" at wal-mart.

advice: whatever you do-- DO NOT SCRATCH YOUR SCALP!! it only makez it worse.
