I'm allergic to yellow gold. It gives me a rash. You could be allergic to whatever other metal they mix into the gold to make it white. Most of the time they use palladium but older alloys use nickel - which many, many people have reactions to.

This is a reaction to the acid content in your skin with the white gold and the base metal that is used to make the jewelry. A lot of people have high acid content in their systems. If you had an allergy, your skin would actually break out, as my did.

you are allergic to a metal that they mix with the white gold. Try getting higher than a 10 karat weight white gold. the higher the karat of gold the purer amounts of gold are in it. I can only wear 24 karat gold and I can't wear silver at all.

It is a very rare allergic reaction and the enzymes which are being ejected from your skin at that point discolours the gold
