Carbs are basically sugar. All foods have carbs except meat. Dr. Atkins wrote a book showing the importance of cutting back on carbs and eating next to no table sugar. You do eat carbs you have too unless you consume only meat. Saying you eat no carbs means a person has no idea what this way of eating is about.
This way of eating saved my life as I was bulemic and slowly killing myself. For 2 1/2 years I have lost 50 pounds, kept it off, and never once have felt the need to make myself vomit.
A wonderful lifestyle change and to really know what it's about get his book at the library. It's not a fad. This has been around since 1972. Many have adhered to this way of eating all these years and kept the weight off. I have met many and never plan on changing the way I eat. EVER

Atkin was a doctor who has passed away. He introduced the Atkin diet by taking in more protein and less carb. Works for some people.
It's not a bad diet if you use some brain. The key is to take balanced protein and healthy carbs like vegitables. Eat lean meat instead of fat greasy meat. Because excessive carbs turn into sugar and sugar turns into fat if not burnt and used by the body and that's how some people got fat. And usually sweet stuffs has extreme amount of sugar and bad carb.
Your body cannot absorb 100% of the protein you've intake. Because some people don't need all the proteins since they don't work out, so their body will just **** out the excessive protein.

It's a bad diet! You basically eat no carbs, which doesn't let you grow muscle, and you lose weight, because you lose muscle. At least that's what I heard. Anyway, just don't do it...terrible diet...
