I am surprised at all the people who said no, so now I want to ask if you just rejected the gift. Belief is free and yours for the taking.

Midge, my friend, you have to ignore them. For they do not understand "Gift" and they do not understand "faith".
Dictionaries won't do it for them, only the Bible will and if they have one at all, dusty on an old rusty shelf, they do not use it, like an old Norditrac, unused, rusty and dusty.
Keep trying though, I do, and get spanked every time!!!
I never give up on Faith.

How is faith being a gift a "no-brainer?"
Let me get this right. God gives faith. Faith is the ability to believe in god without having any "proof." So if people don't believe, who's fault IS it? Don't be looking at ME! It's not Jesus' fault.
Look, I have this other gift for you. It's the gift of faith in the Easter Bunny. He's REAL. He's a real bunny that lays eggs . Now if you refuse to believe this, you're just leaving my gift of faith in the dirt. It's a no-brainer! This faith is free and yours for the taking! And if you don't believe in the bunny, than this is because you secretly didn't accept my gift of faith.
Speaking of no-brainers....

Ephesians claims faith is a gift in clear terms
I think the reason might be a slide toward palagianism...
what's that you say?
Augustinian/Calvinism - the grace of God is at the center of salvation Jesus "said no one comes to Me unless the Father draws him"
semi palagianism - a mixture of man's effort and god's grace is at the center of salvation
palagianism - includes most liberals, the view than man is basically good and man's efforts are at the center of salvation
palagianism being the worse choice in the list

Blind faith is free, Biblical faith is not.
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
I am a Christian and once I am sure it comes from God I reject nothing.

Joe probably did that because there is no real question here, just a sermon...
Lady, some people, no matter what little thoughts bubble around in YOUR brain, don't believe because they can't. Some people don't believe, because when they looked for god, they didn't find god. Get over it.

Depends on the type of belief.
Remember Jesus, believed, he had faith, but the night before he was crucified he questioned God. Even for Jesus, Faith was hard, belief was hard.
This is just an outsiders perspective on the christian religion.

I've never understood how believing in something fictional could be considered an accomplishment.
