It is generally acknowledged that the Gnostic 'gospels' were written 200 - 400 years after Jesus and are not the inspired word of God. In Muhammad's time, they were widely circulated as authentic, but were proven fairly quickly as not authentic. The Qu'ran clearly states that Muhammad came to Earth to correct misconceptions surrounding Jesus and His ministry and used these to verify what Muhammad taught. In truth, the fraudulent 'gospels' are the corruption - not the ones contained in the Bible.

I don't know.
I'm not sure this is true do you have a reference?
The gnostic gosepls are very unreliable and not authentic Christian documents

It is a problem that since Mohammed could not read or write he would not be able to read the gospels and check what was in the real gospels or the Torah

Its said that the original Koran was passed from father to son by memorization since writing wasn't available to all. Could it not be possible that the gospels of which you speak were memorized also and mixed into the Koran?

WELL....most people or groups would rather do anything rather than say "I'm wrong. Lets make it right"

They would rather believe lies, torture their women, anything.

Lies are easier to believe than truth. And more convenient to soothe your conscience while filling your own agenda. Does not make muslims bad. Certianly not the individuals. Just the cover-uppers may have some explaining to do.

My 2 cents

Muslims consider Jesus to be a prophet, as well as Abraham and Ishmael.
