I don't think so. There are people whose are awed by the greatness of the universe and see it as beyond natural explanations. A fair sized portion of these folks are simultaneously appalled at the idea that anyone could accept the scriptural god - a vain, tyrannical, and violent deity - as the force responsible for the universe.

So while they reject the notion of a personal god as patently absurd, they hold to the notion of a primal force. and hey! if it was good enough for most of our founding fathers, it ought to be good enough for some of their intellectual children.

Deism was never going to be a large organised religion because it doesn't demand anything of people - its something that can so easily be just a private personal beleif.
In that form it will possibly always exist - but as more than that it doesn't serve much function.

As hard as the followers of the Abrahamic religions try, they can never kill Deism. As long as we have logic, reason, and science, Deism will never die.

Deism makes just as much sense as any other "God" explanation, so it shouldn't be.

That will never happen, not because it's right or wrong, but just that you'll never get everyone to believe the same thing
