You cook your Turkey at 350 degree. Usually for a 10 to 15 pound turkey takes 3- 3.5 hours to cook and so forth. Remember to baster your turkey often with any liquid or drippings in the pan the the turkey. this will also let you have a moist turkey. On all the cooking shows on Food network they show that if you put about 2 navel oranges quartered in the cavity of the turkey that this will also give the turkey a different taste and will also add moisture also.

My mom would always start the turkey cooking at midnight at 250 degrees and let it cook like this all night and it would be ready for us to eat by 12 noon.

Let's take this to extremes and see. If you assume a recommended temperature of 350 degrees, could you bake it at 2,000 degrees for a few seconds or at 100 degrees for a couple of days and expect it to come out the same? Probably not; you'd either get a carbonized blackened cinder or a pale, dried out rock-hard brick. You could adust the time and temperature within a reasonable range and not expect much of a noticable difference, but it you pushed it beyond a certain point very bad things would begin to happen indeed.

yes, today i made an apple pie...and i put it down from 350 to 150 and it just had to cook longer, it came out perfectly...

You can, but watch it very carefully, and it is not guaranteed to come out as good as it would otherwise. You have to watch for the outside getting overcooked while the inside is not quite done. If you are careful it should be alright, though. Happy Thanksgiving.

you can do that with meat or other dishes but I wouldn't try that with a desert...
