Many people enjoy mirrors over their beds to heighten their visual stimulation during sex. But, people also frequently use mirrors on walls as well as ceilings to give a room a more open feeling of space. The mirrors can make an ugly, low ceiling appear to be much higher and attractive. And, mirrored walls and ceilings enhance lighting and increase possibilities for decorating. Finally, many people with asthma are switching to mirrored interior decors as an inexpensive way to reduce dust and other air pollutants because painted or wood surfaces are not as easy to keep clean as mirrors.

mirrors have the effect of opening up a space & making it look bigger. this would give the effect of a higher ceiling. in the bedroom however, the reason is a bit different - it gives a whole new perspective when " on the job".

Mirrors reflect light making the room brighter. If you were illuminating the room with candles, mirrors help to disperse the light more evenly throughout the room.
