Just as you were no doubt upset about the loss of someone close, so is the dog. In fact, given that the dog had a constant companion, it's understandable that she may even appear more upset. However, with time and lots of love and attention, she should get better. What she may be missing more than anything is that companionship. You can, of course, get another dog and that would likely help. If you're hesitant to do so, though, there are other things that you can do. Set up some play time with other dogs or even take her to a doggie day camp or day care center. Try to add a little bit of what she's missing, namely that canine/ owner companionship.

is there anyone that is willing to take and foster/adopt the dog? a lot of times dogs grieve themselves into sickness and 'depression' (or the canine equivalent) when their owners die or leave them for a long period. no matter what, the dog needs a really good home with someone who will really love and care for him and any problems ('emotional' or otherwise...) he may have.

How sad. Maybe some item of the owners clothing for him to snuggle up with. With the owners smell on it. I don't really know, but this seems logical. He shouldn't be left alone, should be with people who love him. Dogs know, I think that they do.

i became purely watching a backyard makeover instruct final night and that they used this mulch. What a twist of fate! i think of this is extremely, very irresponsible of Hershey's to marketplace this product and not employing a warning label. i may be devastated if that occurred to my canines (even nonetheless they force me nuts.) sure, they could argue that canines proprietors can positioned 2 + 2 at the same time (canines can not have chocolate) yet they have a duty to warn puppy proprietors!

Dogs feel the loss of their owners too. I don't know what to tell you except call the vet and love it. The poor lil thing...I feel bad for it. Good luck.

Well. I would totally love and care for the dog. But, yeah, sometimes they die if the owner dies. Try this:
Take care of it, love it, and all that good stuff!
Go to your vet and ask if theres anything he/she can suggest. :] GOOD LUCK!!

Take care of him or put him on PennySaver for a loving family or find someone who would want a dog.

Take em into yur home and spoil them spoil them spoil them, else they will die of depression and I don't mean this to put you down but it just recently happened with one of mine, my grandma passed away and a couple months later my beagle got so depressed we had to put her down to stop her from suffering, I miss them both.

I think all you can do is be kind to him. This is the only thing we can do for anyone who has lost a loved one.
