It is not a fairy tale!
And I do not assume that it is my God-given right; my call is to protect nature, not to destroy it. So in that sense I agree with you, as I think that it is a stupid and wasteful custom to kill a tree, drag it into one's house, gaze at it for a week or two, and toss it on the curb. It has positively nothing to do with God. Also, my God-given rights are freedom to live, to love, to an education and healthcare, to be treated well, et cetera.
But it is really dumb to do Christmas trees, just like it is dumb to do presents, and to scatter eggs about the yard for Easter. Christians must return to the true religious meaning of the holy days, not celebrating the stupid f*cking crap of the holidays.

No it isn't a God given right used by Christians. It actually does help our wetlands in Louisiana because we recycle them after Christmas by dumping them in marshes and rivers. This also helps to give oxygen to the fish in our waterways. All of which is environmentally sound. I feel God would be glad that we are conserving. I know this not as a Christian but as an employee of an environmental agency.

Its a pagan holiday...do some research.
Jesus was born in late september to early october during the Jewish feast of Rosh Hashannah. The bible is clear on this.
Catholic formed out of paganism and took their holidays into Christianity, but this holiday has nothing to do with the bible or CHrisitanity.
Thans for letting me share!

I don't. I bought an artificial tree, but I still haven't put it up in three or four years, and I doubt if I put it up this year.
