Coz I believe otherwise. At one point or the other, more often than not, one falls for the other. Whether it was expressed or not, I think friendship gets ruined right then and there. Whatchathink?

Yes. Just because a guy and a girl of of opposite sex, does not mean anything. I know plenty of people that are in happy relationships that there best friends are of the opposite sex. If you are in a trusting relationship, the person should not have an issue. Take for example, if you are married and your best friend is married and you are a girl and your best friend is a guy and both of you are faithful to partners. Why would this be a problem? If you can work side by side with people of the opposite sex and never "get it on" why can't it be the same with friends? As long as you are truly best friends, then there is honesty. If one of you were to start having feelings, then the honesty would step in and it could be dealt with, just like you trying to borrow a shirt or whatever.

Yes they can I think. The relationship may change over time. It may even become romantic and then when that ends it can go back to non-romantic if the parties are mature enough to handle it without letting jealousy ruin a good friendship. Sometimes you can be more honest and open with a former lover. They can be a great source of advice and friendship. If you "click" with someone - then maybe it was ment to be.

Yes, I believe that a guy and a girl can be best friends. I had a guy for a best friend in the fourth and fifth grades and we never went out or liked each other in that way. And now, I have a boyfriend. It's not him. Just because they aren't the same sex then you can still be best friends! Hope this helps!!!

OH MY GOSH! I have been asking the same question! I am really good friends with this guy and now I am starting to like him! I don't know what to do! If he's the sweet kind, try talking that would always work. If your not trying to go out with him and hes trying to go out with you, then say yes, give it a shot! It might work! If not you can go back to being friends! NO HARM DONE!
I hope you appreciate my advice!

I believe it depends on the people.I have had male friends & thats all they were was friends.I think if its a problem for some they were already looking before then.If there is trouble in a relationship then the friends became more. But that is my opionion

i have had many women best-friends over the years.. and not once did things ever go beyond the friendship level.

in order for things to progress further than friendship level, both have to want it to progress..

i may have wanted things to progress with some of them, but they weren't up for the idea.. in the end, this type of situation tends to ruin friendships.. at least that's my experience.

I have some women that are just friends that I have no attraction to whatsoever. Of course I have a very good relationship with my wife and I think my friends have good marriages as well.

i think guys and girls can just be friends. maybe if the two are around each other long enough they will start to fell an attraction, but if it's mutual, is it really all that big of a deal?
