I have to restart my songs like 2 or 3 times before I hear them completely. It cuts off anywhere from a half second to 2 full seconds. Its annoying for a lot of my death metal stuff that starts strong because it ends up sounding off from the beat patterns.

Try closing out of other programs before playing your music. If that doesn't help, go to the media player site and see if there are any available updates. You can also use the site to possibly find forums where other users might be encountering the same problems. If you don't find anything, try uninstalling and reinstalling the program.
