Is Haram like sin? If so, then I don't think that it's necessarily Haram to watch American shows, any more so than it is to watch Canadian, British, or whatever shows. There are some shows that are sinful/Haram, like Doctor 90210 and MTV, et cetera, and more depending on what the doctrine is. But there are some really good shows too, like documentaries on animals and string theory and medicine on PBS, which are not sinful and in fact help expand your horizons. So, no, it's not Haram to watch good American shows, but it probably is to watch bad American shows.

Haram means something that Islam says you shouldn't do, right? Anyway it probably depends on the show. The Man Show would probably be haram, while Oprah would probably not be haram.

no! i don't think so.is it because they are not Muslim or what? well i am Muslim and i watch American shows as long as they don't effect my behaviour. (haram in Islam means not legal)
i watch Oprah,Dr phill shows

If you are a Muslim , I think so . Even Christian thinks it is Haram, not Halal .

It is Haraam in my opinion to watch shows that have nudity in them, or meaningless violence, drugs etc. Gotta love disney animated moveis! :)
