Women want to be told they are pretty, even if they look like Agnes the Dog Faced Girl; it's the culture. Lots of the women here on Q&A whine and moan and feel they are ugly because someone isn't constantly building their ego.
You look in the mirror and see if you are pretty, YOU be the judge. If you are a fat slob, he may love you and think you are beautiful, but most likely he wants to keep you happy and quiet and available for the horizonal boom boom.
It's the 21st Century, ladies. If you want equity or equality knock off the "tell me I'm beautiful" krap, or at least know that it isn't sincere in most cases when it's expected, or you pout when you don't hear it.

When I tell a woman she is pretty I am saying WOW you look beautiful but on a low note so I can look cool. ALso it could mean that you are pretty in a way friends talk. But if I would say it it would mean your beautiful.

complicated...if he's black you know then he thinking of you. wehter its to play you or be with you, the point is you are on his mind. men dont just come up and say...your pretty, not to get an answer from you.......but yea, the main thing, is that to him, your catching his attention...and to you im guessing thats a good sign.

For me, when i tell a girl that she's pretty it's usually because i like her, so i don't say it a lot.
If he just says it casually, then he probably just means what he says: that you look pretty.
You should be happy. ;)

means that you always look beautiful and that means he is running out of patience it also means you are dressing the same as you always do and that you should change your Ward robe to something that you wouldn't always ware and see what he says.
