you have to use a really good ceramic straightner like a 'CHI' or a 'HAI' it wont leave your hair puffy but you have to take time atleast an hour to do it.when you do your hair you have to do it in small pieces. it might take a while but it'll be worth it becaues you'll have beautiful hair! with thhose staightners you could also curl your hair and it looks real pretty.

I have puffy hair and I've tried it all, so here's my advice: Don't bleach your hair nor perm it! The chemicals in products will make your hair dryer and fragile, and if it turns out that you don't like the way it looks, you'll have to chemically process your hair -again- just to fix it, or wait until your hair grows out. Straightening your hair daily is also damaging, so only do it on special occasions. Try out the John Frieda "Frizz-ease" serums. Look for the one best suited for your hair type (depending on texture of hair) and use it with damp, clean hair. Then part your hair across the back of your head with your fingers, from the tip of one ear to the other. Run your fingers through it gently, just to make sure it's all aiming on way. Finally, tie that section of your hair at the very end and let it air dry. If all goes well, your hair won't be puffy nor frizzy! (PS: See if your local Wal-Mart has the product!)

I like Curlz Rock from Catwalk. You put it on when your hair is wet and then take sections of it and wind it around your finger and then let it loose. Don't touch it or mess with it too much. I have puffy hair too...makes me NUTS!!!
