You do not state what kind of club,if its free or has monthly-yearly dues but in general you must think joining the club will have some benefit fo you and I'd say go ahead and join. If this club involves signing a contract requiring you to pay quite a bit of money then talk to a friend(s) or go take a tour and ask for a free trial membership for approx a week or a very minimal fee for that week so you cantry it see if its for you before you sign the contract for once signed difficult to impossible to get out of it.Most health clubs will readily comply. If its another kind of club that requires no contract or a hefty fee then still do try it for going to the club may just be the thing that will make you know what to say in time.Clubs are great places to met people with similar interest as you and even if you're a bit on the shy side -being able to communicate, share your interests may just having you finding and making some friends. Not everyone is outgoing,a natural social person but learn it along the way. I always say try it for you'll never know unless you do for may just be what you need. Trying new things, meeting new people is what life is all about-discovering whats just around the corner keeps life interesting.

walk right on in, take a look around, when someone approaches you ask them what you can expect from joining this club. ask if it is self defense orientated or sports directed. if you like the answer, and like what you see, wait until after the class and ask the students what they think, from the experienced to the novice alike. if you get good vibes, then go and ask the person who first talked to you about the terms of joining, and sign up for the minimum amount of time. when that is up you can stay or go. hopefully stay.

Ask about the focus of the club (fitness, sport, self defense, competition... whatever), find out what sort of schedule they have and what their fees are. Ask if it would be okay if you watched a class... or even better, if you could attend a class. Many, many good schools will welcome you to attend a class for free. Expect to sign a waiver of some kind to protect the school if you spaz out and injure yourself. You'll get a chance to evaluate them and they'll get a chance to evaluate you.
Ask the instructor about his experience. If he (or she) is legit, they will be very open about their lineage, and you can then find out more about their instructors. Look out if they act mysterious or allege to hold secrets... blah blah.
Then go. If they're cool people and you feel like you could learn something useful, sign up.
Beware of contracts. BEWARE!!! Other things to look out for are allegations of mysticism, secret powers or techniques, or allegations that their techniques are too deadly to practice at full speed.
Have fun, and don't be chicken! Walking through the front door that first time is the hardest part.

Well, what kind of club. Then you could talk about things pertianing to that club. For example a writing club. Ask someone what their favorite author or book is. Or a cooking club, ask or tel labout you favorite food or your favorite thing to make. Just join one that is something you love doing. When in doubt, just go up to someone and say, "hey, I'm new here. My name is...What's the club like ...What kind of things do you do? Ask other people questions...people love to talk! And then if the ystart talkiing, they'll probably ask you questions!Good Luck!
