Though I'm missing the connection to boxing, I'll answer anyway. Don't take any risks and you thereby limit the potential negatives. Don't go anywhere alone with him (until you have gotten to know him---which will, of course, take a lot longer than 1 date.) That includes not getting into a car alone with him. That means he won't be picking you up but instead you'll be meeting him. Stay in public places where there are plenty of other people around. Don't leave your drink or meal unattended unless necessary. You can ask a waiter, e.g. to keep an eye on it if you, e.g., leave for the restroom. Tell family/friends where you will be with him and time you anticipate being home. Don't stay out too late with him. Don't engage in anything physical with him, not even kissing. Guys want what they think they can't have anyway. Keep a cell phone with you. Pray to God & trust Him for your safety & safe return before you leave home. That about covers it.
