A lot of my "crushes" if that's what you want to call them, have been older men.... I've told this to a few of my friends and one of them just goes, "You're one of THOSE girls, aren't you?"..... when she said this I laughed, but still felt a little hurt.... what's wrong with being attracted to not only looks, but with wisdom, experience and true intelligence.....? I can't help it if I'm interested and "Sprung" may I say, by older gentlemen....

I can understand that some might think I'm only after a rich, older man, but if he was poor... wouldn't care. Is there anything wrong with this?

Funny - for years it was the other way around! Actually, the age of the younger partner makes a difference. If a 30 year old wants to date a 70 year old, it's no big deal, but if a 15 year old wants to date a 55 year old, it's huge. Depends on the maturity and whether the younger person has the ability and opportunity to say no. Traditionally people think of girls as fragile and boys as sexually aggressive, so that probably has something to do with it. It's bunk. The gender is not nearly as important as the maturity of the individual - and the legal age of consent, of course.

My father was 19 years older than my mother and it wasn't a good relationship. Older men are usually trying to prove they can get a younger girl. They have been around and know what life is like more than you, they have different outlooks on life and probably wouldn't be interest in the same things you are. There are other reasons, but I won't go into that. It sounds like you might be looking for a father figure.

I don't think there's virtually anything wrong with love between an older man and younger girl - just shows that you're attracted to more mature males, both intelligently and physically. And what about the older males who are attracted to more youthful women? It's not like a one-sided thing.

Only issue with that is possible societal outlook and that you're both in different age demographics...but a factor like that in any future relationship you'd have would be yours to deal with.

Love is a universal emotion. If you feel attracted to someone way older, and they like you back, then why not go for it? It's better to live with someone you can trust rather than be partnered with someone for life just because of age, I believe. :)

can't anyone tell you who to be attracted to but you need to weigh the pros and cons and the years of age different1 are you willing to be there when he is much older then you 2 what about when he doesn't trust you are be jealous of you 3 and then your friends has been cut down to nothing 4 you are not allowed to go anywhere by yourself 5 he has you followed just a few you make the decision and 6 an older man draws strenght from a much younger woman 7 and what if you become to old for him just do some soul searching god luck

I'm 18, and have mainly been attracted to middle aged men, as well. The last serious one, before my current, was our vet, who happens to be 53. It's completely normal to be attracted to older men!
It's just a preference, just as some men have a preference for blondes, brunettes, big breasted women, big booties, etc.

Right now, there's an older man at work who I am NUTS about. He's about 45, divorced. Besides the fact that I find him GORGEOUS, what attracts me to him is his confidence and experience. We don't have to play games. He knows how life works, and he isn't still trying to find himself, unlike the rest of the men in my age group... I know he is capable of taking care of me emotionally... and probably physically... because of this aforementioned experience. Boys our age can't figure us out, if they're still trying to figure out themselves.

I'll provide you with another example. There's a 19 year old that I know, who I like a lot. He's just so immature, though, that I don't let things between us develop. He doesn't have the vaguest idea of what a long-term relationship is, and he is still at the stage in his life where he's trying to "figure out" girls. He plays so many games, and is so damn subtle, that I end up wasting too much time just trying to figure out how the hell he feels about me.

Your attraction to older men is a sign of maturity

It matters how old you are really, and if u r still in say high-school then it may be a problem because older men have a different prospective on life and what he wants out of a relationship. But if you are in college or no school because your in ur 20+ then I see no problem, all it really matters is your age and your friends.Love is love and noone can stop that.

If you are 18 and he is middle aged then forget it. It may never work because you are both in totally different stages in your life. Do you have a bad relationship with you father, or maybe an absentee father? You are just looking for someone to love you, even if you don't acknowledge it, that is what it is!

Nothing is wrong with dating older men if if respects you. Society sees it as a bad thing because it looks like an older man is taking advantage of a younger woman. But if it's not the case, enjoy!

Nothing really as long as you are over the age of 21. Personally, I prefer younger men (I'm 42), so to each their own. Life is too short to worry about what others think. Enjoy!
