you can have crocheting needles but as far as the liquids they have to be in containers marked as 3.4 oz or 100 ml or less they have to be in a clear plastic zip top bag everything has to be able to fit in to the bag easily and has to go to the x-ray separately from your other stuff. also you only get one bag per person traveling. Things are more relaxed right now. You can pack any of those things in your checked luggage. You can take small amounts of shampoo, lotion, makeup and perfume, but they have to be small bottles and placed in a clear zip lock bag. The crochet hook is probably ok. Your airline should have further instructions on their web page.

well in the uk they just had a band on taking this onto the plane, u couldnt take alot of hand luggage but that has been lifted now. you were allowed to take any cosmitics at all, but that has been lifted. you can take most things, apart from any thing sharp or areosle cans. i find that its best to pack anything personal in hand luggage. it doesnt hurt to look on your ticket, usually when u book u will get a leaflet that tells you ur weight restrictions and what u can and cant take on the plane. i hope that helps. also if u arent sure just ring the airline or look on the airlines web site.
