Does anyone else but me think that the recent immigration issues in the US are just a way to get people pissed off about something besides the Iraq war? I mean just a few years ago no one really cared about immigration and now everyone seems to think the world will come to an end if we don't stop illegal immigration. If you actually do real research and stop listening to all the propaganda you would know that our economy is pretty much based on it and the immigrants help a whole lot more than they hurt. If you just take outsourcing for example think about the millions of jobs that are sent to other countries or the insane tax cuts the corporations get I think there are allot more important things we should be doing instead of worrying about the illegal immigrants, I mean if it is really that bad don't you think our all controlling government would just stop it all together?

Makes a whole lot of sense to me! Never thought of it, but great point! I agree that the USA would do something about it if they wanted to.

You should look where Bush is now, talking of trade with all these smaller Asian nations. The Mexicans and illegals take away from where the jobs will be going for US based business that can relocate or start up with foreign Asian ventures and backers in years to come as the stupid poor working man thinks all the Mexicans caused this and those Iraqis. Americans are being computerized and fenced in, not the illegals fenced out. In 1 year you must have a passport to leave US soil, anywhere but the majority of Americans still have bot heard of this. Your passport is now overlooked by the Bush agency, "Homeland Security", over INS and the rest. Your social security number goes with you wherever you go, you can't get a passport if you owe back taxes, child support and more, but it's a poker game and the public is being bluffed. Have you seen the cost of the upcoming passports and long lines in Federal Post offices, with cameras on you as you wait forever? The only way America can compete globally is with cheap wages, since most Americans won't work for less or the Unions, the government sends your jobs overseas, look at how many Ford factories are closing. Americans gave this year,$293 billion to charities, don't you think your government with the rich people running it, want their piece? Where is the charity at home and the free health insurance?
You need to see where Conoco/Phillips petroleum is building the largest refinery ever in Saudi on the coast with the others, the thing is this is a refinery, not crude, where do you think the especially built fleet of ships will be hauling it? America has it's own refineries right, does China need gasoline? Check out Aramco, the owner of this new venture, = Arab/American oil co., and the lawyer in California on it's board. America investing in it's future? Nope where the best money is, as usual and guess who pays for it.. A lame duck president needs to get as much done as possible before his time is up, right? Let's see, he got that bad Saddam out of power for his dad, then wire and phone taps, computer and email taps, a fence to be built as we cattle are rounded up with your social security number. The American public being isolated while big business gets richer, this time on Asian soil. Walmart just invested $8 billion more in China.

It's so funny that the exact same issue of illegal immigration and amnesty came up when Reagan was President and it was an issue for about a month and then Reagan gave them amnesty and you never heard about it again. Now it's like the US is under attack from immigrants and they are more threatening than terrorists. It's amazing how effective anti-immigrant marketing has been because this issues certainly never loses it's legs.

No....it's been a problem. Right in there with the outsourcing for cheap labor and insourcing cheap labor, legally and illegally. It's been a problem for the American people.......I don't think the government cares. It doesn't really touch their personal lives. I just wonder how many of our government officials are fluent in Spanish. They don't have "must speak Spanish" as part of their job requirements. They aren't screened for drugs or alcohol or denied employment for breaking the law. Most live in nice gated communities and aren't out here in the trenches trying to make a go of things. I wonder if their attitude would change if a bunch of illegals could bid for their position or we could insource some "better" politicians? Cheapest bidder gets the job. Illegal immigration is very much tied in with all the other issues.

in the event that they have a artwork enable then they are no longer unlawful extraterrestrial beings. they're criminal and registered workers right here with an invite and somewhat a number of the rights and protections that electorate savour. unlawful extraterrestrial beings don't have a enable and are a issue because of the fact: a million. they are no longer registered and no back floor verify is finished. in the event that they entered the US without our understanding they could be right here for any reason. it may desire to come as a ask your self yet our united states of america has enemies and if human beings can bypass our border with a toddler they are in a position to probably bypass with a bomb. 2. they do no longer pay taxes nor do they artwork for minimum salary so as that they take jobs that U.S. electorate can not compete for and supply no longer something back to our economic equipment. They take centers which comprise emergency well being care and make contributions no longer something in return. 3. they're taken benefit of via our very own criminal element and because they're right here illegally they have few recourses to defend themselves. they from time to time finally end up digital slaves below hazard of being became in and deported. 4. Anger and resentment with reference to the above makes them carriers to ordinary hostility in the direction of and from electorate. in case you doubt this look on the style of hateful positioned up purely in those boards. unlawful immigration isn't defensible. criminal immigration is allready allowed accurately.

No, I lived in AZ for over 20 years near a border town and this was pissing me off then. It's just that it hasn't been brought to light until the last few years.
It's a fallacy to believe that illegals help our economy. I've also worked in healthcare most of my life and I will tell you that they are taxing the healthcare system big time and U.S. taxpayers are paying for it by higher health care costs themselves.
They also keep our minimum wage down as well as tax our school systems. They bring diseases, and violence to our country. Look at the major cities they have settled in. LA, Albuquerque, New York, etc.. How can you say they are good for this country?

No way, the illegal immigration problem is the biggest for most of us in our lives, the war will one day end, but the illegal immigration problem has been going a lot longer, and if we do not do something soon, it will go on and on and on.

I think this is a good question. How many americans would like to stand in the hot sun and pick fruit and get paid very little? I think the mexicans know that this a great country and want to live here. How many americans can honestly say that they work hard and then give half their check to their parents just to help them out?

I take it you don't have children in public schools, or who need state aid for medical care.

No, it is not a distraction. It is ruining our schools and services. Do some research on it, as I did after the marches. You will be shocked that the impact could be so big and the headlines in mainstream press so few. Use government statistics and ignore the wild eyed press. You will be amazed.

Yes, I agree that it is a huge distraction while our men and women are dying in a country that will return to life as it was without any democracy once we pull out.
