I am baking the Thanksgiving turkey tonight, and it will be done around 2am. Once it's done, I plan to put it on the table until noon tomorrow. All of my family is meeting at my house and I'm in charge of fixing the turkey. My sister says it will make all of us sick if I don't refrigerate it instead. Will the turkey really go bad in that short amount of time?

I'm inclined to agree with the first person who answered. I suspect that the second person has no cooking experience. What this person doesn't know is that the turkey will continue to cook for several hours after you remove it, and it should be fine if consumed around noon. After the meal, then promptly refrigerate any leftovers.
