Islam is the continuation of Judaism.
Muslims believe that God sent various messengers to people from the beginning and that the messengers all preached one religion- the oneness of God. There Muslims believe that Adam, Noah, Abraham, his son (Ismail), Lot, Joseph, Moses etc. all preached the same message. In total God sent around 24,000 messengers.
The religion finally came to be called Islam during the time of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH). After that the only true religion in the eyes of God is Islam.

Both islam and christianity take many of there customs from judaism but they r infact different religions and have major diferences

it takes a lot of customs and traditions from it. Much of the Koran is based on Jewish biblical mythology.
But they also have key fundamental differences as well.
