The only time I carry a gun is when I am hunting, so I guess I wouldn't feel too bad.

Do all people from other countries think all Americans carry guns on there person at all times? This is just is not the case.Just because we have the freedom to bare arms doesn't mean we all pack weapons 24/7. It only means we have the right to own them. Some people must believe everything they see in movies and TV!!
We probably feel the same as you do when you visit the United States. We need to feel protected by your Government!

I think it's stupid some countries outlaw guns.Look at their crime rates because of it!In my state you can carry concealed with out a permit, and low and behold...it's one of the safest states in the US.
I like guns, shooting, and hunting.I really don't care if some other loser country doesn't.All I know is,you break into houses where I live and you're going to be looking at the business end of a gun.People have a right to protect their property and families. Some countries don't understand this. That's why America is the greatest.

Bound's hubby here:
An interesting question ... I really did not think about it until I read your question. The few times I travelled overseas, I went without any firearms .... one of those times I was responsible for 13 high schoolers in the height of terrorist activity in Europe in the late 1980s.
On reflection, I always made certain I knew where either the US embassy was, or the closest US base that I could get myself onto. In addition, I took comfort at always having a knife at hand ... it is always easy to buy an inexpensive set of kitchen/culinary knives no matter where in the world you are!
In Britain, Scotland, Germany, and Austria ... I never felt "unsafe" ... because I was comfortable enough with the language and customs to fit in (especially in Germany and Austria).
In France, I never really felt safe ... but I carried a pocket knife ... and could always find a bigger knife if necessary.
When in Canada, it was like I was at home in the states ... nothing to worry about.
That is the extent of my overseas travel, and it was pre-2001. Today, I really doubt I would travel beyond our borders (no offense to Canada), but there is just "no place like home!".

I don't travel to those countries because I don't trust nations that throw up their hands in the face of evil.

why would you visit a place (U.S. state included) that doesn't allow you to defend yourself?
Don't support states that limit your 2nd amendment.
