It's not identical but pretty close and can be substituted in recipes. Both are orange liqueurs, but Cointreau is lighter in color and flavor

Kinda sorta. If a recipe calls for Cointreau and you sub with Grand Marnier there will be a slight difference in the taste, possibly better.

Cointreau is clear and Grand Marnier is amber in color. Cointreau is on the sweet side while Grand Marnier is cognac based and not as sweet.
