im 17 yrs old and im planning on moving out frm my parents home. currently i am studying in NIE wher i am studying to be a teacher. i recieve a bursary of $800 monthly. after i cmplete my 4 years of education i will immediately be posted to a school to begin my job as a teacher. i want to move out because i fell constrained at home. my mom doesn't allo w me to date a guy jus because of his job. he has decided to change it and has gone for the interviews. she also holds on to all my finance. she has my bank book, my debit card and my passport. she doesn't even allow me to gout with my gfrens. making me the outcast in school. should i move out? and can i move out the age of 17 even without their consent?what are the procedures. i will be turning 18 in 27 Feb 2007. and i live in Singapore. please help.

p.s emancipation is not an option..i still love them as my prents, i just wish for some freedom. i have tried asking so many times but they refuse to listen.

You can see your MP. He has grassroots leaders who can intervene on your behalf and handle it with discretion. Children and minors do have rights too. Once you get your independence ie bank book, passports etc, you can start looking for a place of your own.
