Bake....not broil, broiling is excellent for steaks and fillets or sliced meats...
A turkey is too large and bulky to broil, if broiled it wouuld end up half raw inside and half charred outseide...
A turkey is best baked at aprox. 325º - 350º and you calculate 20 minutes per pound. (include stuffing)... a 9 to 10 lb. turkey would need about 3 hours.

Have a nice Thanksgiving!

I have owned both electric and gas cook stoves. I will pick the gas stove over a electric stove any day. Both of them had a boiler in the bottom. With gas you can regulate the heat that you want in an instanced. If your power goes out you can still cook and in a pinch, if you source of heat is electric, you can heat your house (at least a room) with you gas cook stove. I have had better luck baking in a gas oven than in an electric one. I have had the heating elements burn out on the electric stoves as well. I have been shocked by an electric stove a few times when something went wrong.

Bake the turkey at 350 F. for 20 minutes to the pound, and 20 minutes to heat through. This is the general rule, you may wish to leave it in a bit longer as long as the juices run clear when the flesh cut a bit to test it, you are okay. Sometimes an oven can run a bit slower, so you want to test it to be sure.

BAKE BAKE BAKE!!! Yikes!

You use the bake setting usually when you want to cook something evenly all the way through (for example, a turkey, casserole, pie, muffins, etc.)

You use the broil setting where you just want to toast something or brown it on the very top (i.e. toasting cheese on garlic bread, browning up hotdog or hamburger buns, etc.)

Bake. If you use broil you will burn it after a few minutes and it will not be cooked. Do not cook it at higher than 350 degrees.

Don't broil...bake it. If you broil, you'll have a toasted outside and raw inside turkey.

Bake it in an oven set to 325 degrees in a roasting bag or pan that you have put some apple juice in. Yummy! (40 minutes per pound)
